There are now protections that prevent surprise medical bills.

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are expected to give patients who do not have or are not using health insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services.

At Smiles Psychiatry & Wellness, you will receive a good faith estimate of the psychiatric/psychotherapy cost before your visit.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate, you can dispute the bill.
